Arena Dance Academy will hold a dance class in the parking lot | SiouxlandProud | Sioux City, Iowa

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Arena Dance Academy will be hosting a “parking lot dance class” on May 31 to celebrate the reopening of its dance studio and Arena Sports Academy.

The parking lot dance class will be held from 5-6pm in the parking lot outside their studio.

The Dance Academy and Arena Sports Academy will reopen on June 1.

All athletes and arena staff are encouraged to attend the dance class which will be led by Kayla Kellen, Arena Dance Director.

Those who wish to participate in the dance class will learn a fun and uplifting musical theater routine, which will be recorded upon completion.

The recording will then be the opening number for the Arena Dance Academy recital, which is scheduled to take place on June 27. The recital will also be streamed virtually online on June 28.

Kellen said they had missed their dancers and wanted to find a fun and unique way to mark the reopening of the arena.

“It’s a great way to bring all the athletes in the Arena together and share our talents. All ages are welcome. We’re family here at Arena, and I know all of the managers and coaches are looking forward to seeing athletes from across our lineup celebrate together,” Kellen said.

There is no charge to attend the parking lot dance class.

The Arena has implemented detailed protocols and social distancing plans, both inside and outside the facility, to ensure the safety of its athletes and staff.

The arena will open on June 1 with small group shows, dancing, basketball, wrestling and volleyball.

Programs will adhere to the highest sanitation standards and detailed building entry procedures.
