The Blackburn Empire Theater is set to ‘Come Alive’ this weekend as Katrina’s Dance Academy put on their annual show.
The biggest show promises to be a “show of dance, theater and musical theater performances” – with added acrobatic arts.
Academy Director Katrina Baldwin recently graduated as an Acrobatic Arts Instructor, expanding the range of dance styles she can offer her students.
Katrina said: “My training in acrobatic arts was unfortunately postponed for two years due to the Covid pandemic, but earlier this year I completed my training in this unique style of performance.”
Katrina’s Dance Academy now offers three different levels of acro dance lessons, in addition to ballet, tap, jazz, musical theater and drama lessons for students as young as two years old.
The young acro dancers will show off their new skills in colorful numbers to well-known tunes from the 2017 hit movie ‘The Greatest Show’.
Katrina added, “I’m so excited to see the girls on stage performing their new acro skills.
“Our academy is fortunate to have so many talented young artists, working hard week in and week out and bursting out to show off their skills on stage this weekend.
“It will truly be the greatest show!”
Three performances of ‘The Greatest Show’ are taking place this weekend at the Blackburn Empire Theater – at 7pm on Friday 8th July and at 1pm and 7pm on Saturday 9th.
Tickets are still available from the theater box office or online on the Blackburn Empire website, priced at £12 for adults and £10 at the concession.
