The Debbie Allen Dance Academy and the Annenberg Foundation are proud to present Sounds of Sandoval, a jazz festival led by 10-time Grammy Award-winning icon Arturo Sandoval, with classes and performances from 3:30-8 p.m. September and from 2 a.m. until 4 p.m. on September 18.
Featuring Sandoval in an intimate cabaret-style concert and salsa lessons led by internationally acclaimed director, dancer, choreographer and actress Debbie Allen, the two-day festival with two industry legends promises to be a weekend special for jazz and latin dance lovers and aspirants. the musicians.
The festival is the first public event to take place at the newly opened Rhimes Performing Arts Center, a 24,000 square foot building serving as Allen’s sanctuary for dancers and performers to take classes and connect with others. community members.
Named after DADA benefactor and television producer Shonda Rhimes, the building features five dance studios, a 250-seat performance space, and state-of-the-art classrooms to teach the next generation of artists and of performers.
Food and cocktails will be available for purchase ahead of the September 17 concert.
All attendees will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the event. Masking is optional.
