Parkland gets new moves.
the Parkland Arthur Murray Dance Studio is hosting a grand opening celebration on Friday, October 1, with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. at 7631 N. State Rd. 7, the Waterways Shoppes in Parkland.
Attendees will be treated to a night of dancing, professional dance performances, champagne and appetizers, and other events. The dress code is cocktail dress with a royal blue, soft blue or white color code, organizers said.
“We are thrilled to introduce our studio to the world,” said Jailene Gaviria, Dance Instructor and Events Coordinator for the studio.
For locals considering inquiring about dance lessons, Gaviria said the studio has options that cater to all needs, ages, interests and skill levels, including newbies with no experience.
The studio teaches foxtrot, waltz, rumba, salsa, merengue, bachata, swing and wedding dances. Arthur Murray students are often those preparing for an event such as a cruise or vacation; others might be looking to learn new skills or just socialize.
Singles and couples are welcome, studio workers said, with private lessons and gift certificates available.
Gaviria said the studio’s professional instructors have been dancing for 10 years or more; some have performed on television and even have competitive experience.
“We are totally welcoming and responsive to everyone,” Gaviria said.
Arthur Murray Dance Studios, which started in 1912, currently has more than 260 locations in 21 countries around the world, according to the studio. Its employees like to say that people can “call now, dance tonight” since sample same-day lessons are available to the public.
