The dance academy wins gold in Valencia, Spain

A VALENCIA dance academy celebrates after winning gold at this year’s prestigious Worldwide Dance School of the Year awards.

Despite a tough time during the pandemic, the Valencia-based academy has gone from strength to strength, and all of their hard work has paid off after the school won gold at the World Dance School Awards. of the Year this year, held in the UK in October. 29.

Cameron Hall, the owner of Baila con Cameron, moved to Valencia 2 years ago from Skegness, to set up the dance academy. Cameron is an accomplished dancer and has appeared in musicals such as Chicago and Mamma Mia, as well as numerous pantomimes and other shows.

He told The Olive Press “my dream was to create a community here in Valencia and bring my passion for dance and theater and I think we certainly did that….this year has seen the most of schools to participate around the world and even making the final among these amazing schools was such an honour.”

Nominations included academies specializing in styles as diverse as ballet, hip-hop, contemporary dance and ballroom dancing. Nominations for the awards come from around the world, from the UK and Europe to the US and Australia.

Cameron thanked the students and supporters of his academy, adding “this one is for all of you amazing people who make up Baila con Cameron. To all those students, old and new, we did it! Here’s to changing the world one shimmy at a time.”
