The MLT Dance Academy will hold a recital on June 18

Ballet II, “Fireworks”, pause during rehearsal. They are among the groups performing on Saturday as part of Mountlake Terrace Dance Academy’s Spring Recital.

The Mountlake Terrace Dance Academy will present its Spring Recital on Saturday June 18th.

This year’s theme is ‘The Elements’, a reflection on how air, earth, fire and water affect us and are part of us. The focus is on “smooth, thoughtful movement, as well as whimsical, flashy, explosive fun,” says dance and fitness programmer Chloe Davenport.

Shows are at 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Shoreline Community College Theater. Tickets are available for $15 at

The Dance School is one of the main programs of Mountlake Terrace Recreation & Parks. The school excels in ballet, Irish step, jazz, opera and tap. Students range from age four to adult, with a variety of experience levels.

Every piece in Saturday’s presentation was lovingly choreographed for each group, expressing the elements through movement, costume and music.

“Our community of dancers and great staff are proud to present dance live, in theater again, for all to enjoy,” Davenport said.
